The sun warms up the hazy sky north of Hobbit Beach (Yes, it's really called that!) near Florence, Oregon. The contrast of the golden light with the stormy late-winter sea made it look almost purple. This small, spontaneous painting was the only one that succeeded in a long session of painting on the shore that day.
