The Jack Russell Terrier is one of my favorite breeds. They are tenacious, energetic, and intelligent, and one would absolutely go crazy in our small townhouse. They were originallly bred to hunt fox by a Parson John Russell from Devonshire England. This painting is done from a reference photo and I loved the expression on his face and the strong light and shadow patterns.
