Howard Beach, Tarpon Springs, Florida by Pennsylvania artist David Young I re-discovered this painting recently in an old portfolio. I'd always wondered what happened to it. I painted it in Florida in 2005. It's one of the few plein air paintings I ever completed. I chose this secluded beach because I was embarrased to be seen painting in public. I never recovered from this feeling and don't paint plein air anymore. Silly, I know, but there you go ... It's oil on canvas paper which I mounted to a board. It's survived the last fifteen years very well and doesn't look any different from the day I painted it. The mat is my choice. I've got a thing about matted oils and I know not everybody shares my enthusiasm. The painting itself is 8" x 10" and will fit a stock frame without the mat. With the mat, it's 12-1/2" x 14-1/2" The mat is a cool greenish grey, acid free, and has a taped gold line around the opening. Full price of the matted painting is $150. and includes free insured shipping to any destination in the Continental US.
