A Summer Landscape with a Large Wooden Barn. An original matted watercolor by Pennsylvania artist David Young I painted this in 2006 and don't really recall what inspired me to paint it. Back then, I was producing two or three paintings a week, many of which, wound up in boxes or folios and havn't seen the light until recently. I was excited to rediscover them. A penciled note on the back of the painting reminds me that I called it 'Brown Barn in Summer'. (Catchy title!) Also, that the painting is on Fabriano Artistico 140 Lb. cold press paper, and that I painted it in April of 2006. Actually, it's an interesting combination of a tighter foreground and a loose background. I like it. I think I'll try this style again. I matted it in acid-free mat boards with a greenish gray top mat. It enhances the painting nicely. The size of the painting is 7" x 12-1/4" Overall size with mats: 12" x 17" Total cost of the matted painting is $100.00 Packing and insured shipping is free.
