I lived and traveled on a sailboat for 27 years. For some reason, I don't often paint sailboats, but this is my girl, Ling Ling traveling on the ICW, (Intercoastal Waterway). Painted from years of memories. For you landlubbers... there is a protected waterway that goes from Maine to Miami, referredto as the ICW. It's great to use, if the weather is rough or you just want to meander and look at the scenery or stop in a little coastal village. Once you get south of St. Augustine, you encounter more boat traffic and bridges, that require an opening, so usually I took her offshore to avoid all if that. North of the Chesapeake, it gets shallow and tides make things difficult, but, you can sail past the Statue of Liberty and NYC, then finding yourself on the Long Island sound. So much to see.
