Right now I'm trying a bit of focus and blur work. This can easily be achieved when shooting with a wide aperture and thus a limited depth of field. When painting, you have more flexibility on the one hand, and on the other hand even more control over the result. Moreover, the whole thing should appear »somehow realistic«, but in no way photo-realistic.
