A timed apple "exercise" as per Carol Marine, from her book, Daily Painting. It was fun! And enlightening!! First, I drew a grid on my canvas and set up my paints. Next, I picked out a “real” apple as my model. Then, I set a timer for 10 minutes per square. I was so nervous for the first square! But I got through it…lol. Each square got easier and easier. This project became one of my favorites!! What if a simple apple could tell a thousand stories? Each hue reveals a different mood. "Many Apples in One Day" is a playful exploration of color and form. I wanted to showcase how a single subject can transform through varying backgrounds and lighting. The grid format emphasizes the contrast, allowing each apple to stand out while still being part of a cohesive whole. This original oil is 9”x12”. BUT, I can paint any size you desire.
