This was done from a photo I took during a trip to Tangier Island in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay. It is sinking into the bay and may be gone in only a few years. Most of the people there are descendants from the original settlers and speak an old Elizabethan dialect. They mostly make their living as crabbers. This is the second time I painted this.
