Media: Oil
Size: 6x6 in
"Pretty Boy," 6x6" oil on linen panel. This is a fun experiment. I've long enjoyed making up faces from my imagination, my "pretty people," a combination of all the handsome TV characters I saw on TV as a child. Here is one such face. This time, however, I tried to follow the color (light and shadow, warm and cool) of reality a little more (something I never did in the past). I actually looked at a random photo (not the same pose) to "get" the color from it. This painting is the result. A very quick little study, just getting me started, but so much fun to do! I will definitely be working with this idea in the future, for my own gratification. Further pontification about this painting can be found on my blog. "Pretty Boy," 6x6" oil on linen panel.
