The last day of his recent workshop, Derek Penix did a demo recreating a cityscape he had painted earlier. He encouraged us to try a similar painting. I thought this would be a great challenge and I was right. It was very difficult to stay loose and not get lost in the details. It was a very different style of painting for me.
