This was the set up Qiang put together to challenge his mentoring class this week. The rose was dried. I didn't find out until we were done painting that this was the rose he painted 10 times in December 2013 and January 2014. Each day he did a new study of the same rose as it moved from a new rose to full blown rose. All 10 of his beautiful studies sold quickly, but the rose remained in his studio. It is now dried and somewhat browned, yet still a worthy painting subject.
