This was the gate into the courtyard of the hotel we stayed in last September in Xidi Village Xidi Village is a very old village in Anhui province, China. It has been preserved as a museum although the villagers still live and work there. The newest building in the village is over 400 years old and many are up to 1000 years old. It is very picturesque and charming. Thousands of art students from all over China go there to study art.
