We pass through Santa Fe several times a year and spend the night on our way from Austin Texas to Colorado and back. After a lovely dinner we usually wander down to the skate board park a few blocks from the plaza. No matter the weather there are usually some dedicated skate boarders there practicing their tricks. We have spent a lot of time watching them and I have been taking photos. This young man must have tried this trick at least 20 times, failing and falling over and over. He finally made it and by some fluke I managed to capture it with my camera. His persistence was inspiring. He kept picking himself up and trying again until he got it. Some days painting feels like that. I reworked this one quite a bit before I was satisfied.
