This venerable old house is arguably the oldest house in Austin Texas. It served as the French Embassy to the Republic of Texas. Completed in 1841, it sits on a hill just east of the city, overlooking the Texas Capitol and all of downtown. Our plein air group was invited to come paint there on March 5th for their birthday celebration. This was my attempt to capture the look and feel of the place.
