This wooden boat looked so lonely bobbing in the reeds at a park in Beijing. I took the photo on my first trip to China and kept meaning to paint it. It was the only boat photo I had with me when I attended the first day of the Derek Penix workshop this past weekend. Since Derek demo'd a boat for the first day, I wanted to follow suit, although his boat was very different.
