Today CTPS (Central Texas Pastel Society) had a paint out in Florence, Texas. Since it was a CTPS event I felt obligated to bring my pastels instead of my oils. My Day Tripper Easel works beautifully with pastels as well. I am really tickled with it. It's making plein air a lot more fun and a lot less hassle. This scene was supposed to feature a group of lovely goats, but right after I set up and started painting they decided to wander off to the far corner of the pasture where I couldn't see them. Not even a bag full of apple pieces could get them to come back and pose for me. I'll have to paint them from photos in the future, but for now, no goats in this one, just imagine the whole stubborn herd of them back behind the trees to the left side of the painting.
