Framed. Black wood frame with museum glass. This was the third of the first three photos I took with my new camera last year. Somehow all 3 of the first photos were painting worthy and I've been unable to get such fabulous shots of birds ever since then. Im not sure why I didn't go ahead and paint this one at the time, but I didn't. When I was looking for a photo to use for a pastel demo I'd been talked into giving at the CTPS booth at Georgetown Market Days yesterday, it just screamed "paint me". I was nervous doing a demo, but really it wasn't much different than plein air painting (other than I was using a photo). The results speak for themselves.
