Another lesson from Qiang Huang. I was able to be included in a small class Qiang teaches at his home. He has two simple still life set ups and has us set up our easels around them. He showed us how to compose our paintings, then we did, then he showed us how to make our value study, then we did, then he added local color in same values but with no details, then we added that to ours, finally he did the finishing details, then we did, too. It's a wonderful way to learn and he is so good about coming around to check us and let us know what we are doing right and wrong (very diplomatically, of course). I felt I had to call this one sour grapes since it features grapes and a lemon. I loved the yellow lemon against the purple vase. Perfect complementary colors. Another lesson from Qiang Huang.
