Today's paint out was scheduled for the Umlauf Sculpture Gardens near downtown Austin. What a glorious garden filled with plants, trees, ponds, streams, bridges and, of course, the amazing sculptures of Charles Umlauf. This is my favorite of his sculptures. It is called "The Kiss". It is a beautifully rendered bronze of two lovers embracing. It sits on a pedestal in a lily pond. This time of year in Austin the lilies are still blooming. This morning was sunny and bright, cool and comfortable. What a treat to be able to be there to paint.
