The second morning in Zhouzhuang, China, we went out and painted again before breakfast. This time most of us picked spots on the more residential side of the village rather than the tourist part. This young woman came down to the canal, squatted on the steps and proceeded to rinse out a basket of tiny silver fish. I couldn't resist taking her photo so I could paint her later. On the way back to breakfast we passed the fish market with the tiniest fish and shrimp I'd ever seen. That day at lunch, we were served some tiny silver fish, flash fried whole. They were very crispy and delicious, bones and all.
