The PAA paint out yesterday was about as far away from my home as you can get and still be in Austin, at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. Since I had to be downtown for breakfast anyway, I was already partway there, and the weather was lovely I decided to go. It was perfect and it was even "free" day, so I didn't have to pay to get in. I wandered around to find the other artists and try to pick my spot to paint. Never did find any other artists, so I guess I was the only one who made it that day, but I did find the ideal spot to stand in the shade and paint the storage silo behind a bed of lovely cone flowers (a.k.a Echinacea).
