Horses are funny to watch when they do this. They rub each other in exactly the same places. If one moves to another spot, the other will mirror its action. Sometimes nibbling and sometimes using their upper lip to massage the horse. If you rub a horse in an itchy spot and place your hand under their mouth; the horse will move its upper lip back and forth across your hand as if to massage it. Be careful because sometimes the horse will nip. Museum quality prints available on my website.
