Media: Watercolor 140 lb cold pressed papet
Size: 6x8 in
On wet paper, I first applied the background colors for both the beach sand and the water. The next thing I did was add the details for the waves, and then added the rocks on the beach. This was followed by putting shading on the rocks and showing the depression created in the sand from the waves dragging the rocks down towards the water, and those recesses fill with water on each incoming wave. The last step was using a waterproof black pen to draw one of the birds, coming in from the left and then the bird was painted. There are several other paintings with this bird family. If you like the bird, search my gallery with the word ‘bird’. On wet paper, I first applied the background colors for both the beach sand and the water.
