I love the juxtaposition of the deep orange red dahlia next to the discus dahlia, exploding in color. I painted the flowers first and then did the background color, varying it to a complementary color that would punch out the flowers. I also liked the movement in the background, created by varying brush strokes. I really like the color variations in the two prominent flowers.
