Media: Oil on canvas
Size: 12x9 in
For this portrait I used a limited palette of mostly grays. My initial plan was to do a strictly grisaille painting, but in the process, I ended up sneaking in a few brushtrokes of color. I loved the challenge of a very contrasting lighting on the face. The painting took its own sweet time to emerge, and today I felt that I can finally stop working on it.
As of Nov 20, it is still wet in a few areas and I expect it to dry within a week or so. If you wish for it to be varnished, I will be happy to do it, however a slightly longer waiting time will be required.
