Can't image how that could be comfortable but there are many photos of him like the ones I have here in his rocker. Then while researching his paintings for this composition, I noticed that he painted "So Many" of his female models sitting in rocking chairs. I tried to research why he did so and why he loved rockers so much but nothing came up. I found this interesting and thought it would make a fun and interesting composition. Especially since this scene is in his studio on the French Rivera at night making it a bit more dramatic. Even the carpet is influenced by one of his works. I had a great time painting this and watching it come together. Maybe someone out there that loves rockers and Picasso will love this piece and it will find a good home.
