This was the second painting of the day I did during a visit to the historic downtown area of Benicia, CA. The first painting was a bit of a dud, but it warmed me up for this one, which I am happy with. I was initially drawn to the light hitting the orange and blue umbrellas. In fact, I've been on a bit of an umbrella kick lately. They add a nice bit of pure color to a scene. This town had umbrellas everywhere, too, so I'm sure I go back to paint more. 100% plein air This was the second painting of the day I did during a visit to the historic downtown area of Benicia, CA.
