Media: Oil painting on 1 1/2” deep gallery wrapped canvas.
Size: 8x8 in
After finishing a 20” X 20” beach sunrise yesterday I had lots of little piles of lovely color mixed on my palette. I decided to see what I could make of them and came up with this view of the sunrise after a stormy night. This has been my view on my way to work many mornings lately, a glimpse of the morning light over a copse of trees. Our little slice of Texas has been very wet and dreary as of late. The warmth of color starting to spread from the horizon to the remnants of the cloud front overhead is a welcome sight. I wanted to keep this one fresh and loose and made myself work quickly and spent just over an hour painting.
