On a cold but not windy day I painted this New England rock wall with a beautiful vista of the coastal marsh and, of course, the last of the snow--the first pelin air painting of this year. Around noon the sun came out, and I had to stop painting because the colors were getting much more colorful and I was committed to the serene and cool colors I started with. I did do some touch up at home and was thankful for the color notes I had established.
