This vista I saw in the Black Hills of South Dakota had a dreamy look and I endeavored to portray this in this painting. I did this painting in thick oil paint on a 7x5 masonite board. I like using thick oil paint as it gives paintings a luscious texture that can’t be replicated in a print. This could easily be framed by placing it in a standard photo frame with the glass removed.
