Oh, so many memories here. The fishing float comes from a hike on the west coast, the sea shell from the Nootka trail hike, the piece of tile from a family vacation to the Amalfi Coast, the wood from an afternoon at the beach when the kids were still young. It was fun to put them all together for this composition. I am back to painting from 'real life' instead of photos, and find I can see the colour much better and feel so much more of the texture which then translates into brush stroke. Hope this takes you to a memorable summer day in your life. Please note, work is framed with a linen liner and dark wood frame with simple square profile.
