A chair is a place for a body to rest, a place for a memory to rest...people talk about "my chair"...a special place, a particular place. I used to sit in this big chair with my grandpa and watch baseball games on TV, while eating roast beef sandwiches and drinking root beer. There is so much admonition to 'move' these days...and that is good...but when people used to use their bodies for transportation, and their bodies for physical work...the kindest, most welcoming thing you could say was, "Come, sit, take a load off".
