Your mother's advice: "If you ever need to explain the purchase of a new purse...explain it in terms of 'luggage'. Everyone understands the need for luggage...especially men. Once, when my husband had surgery and had to recuperate in bed, I went to every fancy luggage store in the city and bought different types of yummy bags. I brought them to his bed. He was delighted, zipped and snapped and admired the various valise compartments, and then I took them all back. They were delightful entertainment a real appreciation for craftmanship...and I never had to explain 'purse lust' again! It's just luggage!
