Last week our youngest son was visiting and asked us to do a creative project with him. We agreed to prioritize his visit and his project. (I couldn't love my husband more, because even though he is not a natural creative type, he is game for anything!) Anyway, in the course of the week, giving our focused attention, our son pointed out that, even though it was not exactly physically strenuous, and he had everything mapped out, it was still exhausting to focus on something that was out of our normal everyday rhythm. Near the end of the week, my son snapped a pic of me slouching on the sofa, with my husband in the background (in black). I loved the image because I love to paint figures, interiors, strong contrast, pattern, etc. It was "all the things". So this is my offering today, a loose, fun, oil sketch.
