Happy International Women's Day! As I painted this today, I thought about the progress that women have made in my lifetime...for example, the upper left hand corner of the painting is a nod to the pinstripe suit. Remember how women, when they first entered the "man's workforce" felt they had to dress in a 'masculine way' in order to fit in. Well, that has passed, and we realize the power of showing up in our fully feminine power...but still...there is so much work to be done to achieve full parity, safety and respect for the half of the human race who give life to EVERY single human on this earth. Please, please, take a minute and let that sink in: EVERY human being on earth has their life because a woman gave it to them! Happy International Women's Day!
