Continuing on with my encouragement to express yourself, I am using this image of women jumping into the ocean as a metaphor for courage, risk taking, embracing the un-knowable and uncontrollable. We all know that many times when we jump into the ocean it can be bracingly cold, exert a strong pull on us, and be filled with strange creatures, and just feel a little (or lot) overwhelming. And the ocean isn't a small thing...it is a vast expanse. And that is how I think of the potential of each and every one of us creatively, AND how much room there is for each of us in the creative world: namely, that there is vast and limitless space for all of us to participate in the creative sphere...it is not a small club for only the 'very talented' or 'successful' few. There are as many ways to express our humanity as there are humans...jump in.
