I have been following this art 'bread crumb' trail and not only do I NOT know what I am doing next, I am really LOVING the adventure of deconstructing (cut up images), rearranging (moving pieces around until a satisfying composition starts to appear), then doing small oil paint images of the initial collage, and then making a larger version of the collage based on the painting. of course, with every iteration something new emerges...it's super fun and intriguing. I LOVE doing creative work while NOT feeling fearful (inner voice asking, "Do you think that YOU can pull this off???) or tortured ("What should I do next...It's oh so important!") In fact, for now, I am living that artist's life that says, "Hey, you DON"T need to be drunk, crazy and broke to be a real artist." Let's hope I can stay in this mental space for a little while, with sooo much gratitude to my mentors, Julia Cameron, Elizabeth Gilbert, and Peggi Kroll Roberts!
