Media: oil on pine wood
Size: 13x7 in
Every so often, I take a break from my 'other painting' and paint 'garden art' on wood or tin: things to hang in my garden to add texture. I hang or prop these things around my garden and enjoy their interaction with the plant material. This one would amuse me if hung near one of my two fig trees! And also, this image reminds me to not let anything 'drive' me out of my garden this month, while the long awaited dahlias and all the veg is coming on. Remain in your garden, entertain in your garden, but stay. (This little tableau is painted on a slab of pine, 13" x 7", and painted periwinkle on the sides and back because I always love a bit of periwinkle with my cool greens. It has a wire on the back and is ready to hang.) Every so often, I take a break from my 'other painting' and paint 'garden art' on wood or tin: things to hang in my garden to add texture.
