Yesterday, I was talking to a wonderful group of women and the topic was "How to stay in the present amidst all of the cultural and political chatter". I shared that just for this week (but I may just keep going), I am focusing on the marvelous things in my life. And one of the 'marvels' of my life is that one of my grand daughters is as crazy about reading and books as I am. She and I always go to bookstores (new, used, independent, 1/2 price, etc.) together, in whatever city we meet in....And then we go home and get on our 'boat' (the couch) and cruise to whatever place our respective books take us. Our cruise always involves gentle, calm seas, and lots of snacks. And you know, sometimes, you just need to lay on the couch and read for a couple years...and to have someone share that 'quiet bliss' with you is marvelous!
