Media: oil on museum board
Size: 12x9 in
I love to make things and grow things with my hands. I don't mind getting my hands dirty AT ALL. So I paint, and garden, and make things in paper maché. For example, a couple of years ago I made this giant open bowl, with big ears (handles) on each side. It holds things, but now I think I want to make it into this vase that I painted/drew here. I could bring up the sides, then come in and voila it could be a vase. Obviously, I need to make the neck large enough to accommodate a mason jar to hold water for flowers. (I make my paper maché out of old, yellowing, falling apart books because I quite like the words all over...it's kind of graphic, and kinda neutral). Anyway...I just realized that this painting helped me work out a 'paper maché problem'! One thing really does lead to another.... I love to make things and grow things with my hands.
