This is another friendly reminder to do something 'little' this fall, which will repay you with big beauty dividends next spring and summer...and you have to do it while your garden is drying out, before the rain and snow come. As your flowers go to seed this Fall, cut off the drying stalks and shake 'em all over your flower beds, or meadow (if you are lucky enough to have one). I mean you could do a fun dance as you shake those seeds around, but whether you walk around or dance around, you will be joining into the fun that Mother Nature regularly enjoys. I have a friend who did this as the plants came and went throughout the growing season and she ended up with glorious swaths (meadows) of color in her garden. For example after the early blooming Forget Me Nots went to seed, she shook them all over her back garden...then the next spring she was treated to a sea of blue in the early spring! And Foxgloves (digitalis as depicted in this painting) are another plant that will reward you handsomely if you shake those seed grains all over this Fall. So get out there, wear a flow skirt, flowers in your hair, and get shakin'!
