Taking a break form Mac Daddies to mess around. As I've said before, everything that we do builds on something that has gone before us/and or we are inspired by work that someone else is doing and it informs our work. Hence, today's work is inspired by three different sources 1) The amazing porch on Ted Kennedy Watson's Hudson Valley porch (complete with green Adirondack chairs and wonderful cast shadows, 2) the work of 'just' graduated artisit Florence Hutchings (from the Slade School of Fine Art in London, and 3) my earlier work that was often done with materials that were 'at hand' and easy to clean up/put away whilst tending to six children...I was the 'Craypas Queen' for years and years. These wonderful, inexpensive Japanese materials gave me the slide and color of oils, but without the mess and toxicity. A girl's gotta do...These two exuberant versions of the Watson Kennedy porch would look good framed side by side in olain white frames! Taking a break form Mac Daddies to mess around.
