I'm reminded of a spot in Florida near the backwaters of the St. Johns River. My dad owned some land there and we would go from time to time just to enjoy the solitude. I didn't know I was going there with this painting, but every time I look at it I sense the soft decomposing leaf litter under my feet, spider webs on my face, and the immediate coolness on entering the "jungle". Bird and insect noises surround me. My dad and I loved it, my mother not so much. I'm reminded of a spot in Florida near the backwaters of the St. Johns River.
