She loved her job as a waitress in the tropics. She could go barefoot and let her hair look like a palm tree, BUT the arachnids were so big and scary! And so began her obsession with the Tarantella... The dance started as a cure for "tarantism", a condition believed to be caused by the bite of a spider widely considered poisonous. The spider's victim, typically a woman, engaged in a frenetic dance, accompanied by musicians, playing fast-tempo music, to expel the venom from her system.
