Our favorite vacation destination is the island of St. Martin. This painting is inspired by a location very near where we spent a couple weeks this summer. Stylistically, it is a departure from my previous work. I’m in a place of considering a more colorful, slightly abstract approach going forward. Not saying I’m going to abandon the impressionist style, which I love, but thinking future paintings will be a mix of both until I find a sweet spot I enjoy.
