I was so excited when I did this painting, which is based on the pavement in a parking lot. It is the perfect example of my philosophy that the most modest and mundane subjects are worth my attention as an artist. The strong graphic composition is a great vehicle for layers of paint that suggest texture. I love this painting and hope I'm not the only one.
