This was painted from an iPhone photo taken last November at Two Lights State Park in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. There was still some colorful foliage hanging on the various bushes and the fog was lifting right before sunset so the pink was just becoming visible on the horizon. I loved the combination of colors. Coming from a background as a landscape photographer where I strive to get images that are as sharp as possible and full of detail it is always fun to see how little I can't away with to convey the scene in a painting.
