We are lucky enough to have this tree just outside of our kitchen window. Last year I moved to our new home too late to see the spring flowers that now surround and cheer me. When I saw this Magnolia burst into flower, I had to do a sketch of it before it dropped its petals. I know from experience that they are fleeting - one rain storm can fell the whole lot of them. But in the meantime, they open and hang suspended like a host of stars against the blue sky. We are lucky enough to have this tree just outside of our kitchen window.
