In February of 2020, just before the pandemic closed travel, my daughter and I took a winter trip to Iceland. We'd heard about the beauty, the wonderful culture and the thermal baths. After talking about doing a mother-daughter trip, we chose Iceland. And it was all and more than we'd hoped. My big wish was to see the Northern Lights, which we did one night. Little did we know that it would be the last real travel we did for three long years, which made me even more grateful for the adventure. This slightly abstracted landscape is from that visit. It is hard to capture the vast scale we saw, but I loved how incredibly colorful everything was, even in full winter.
