It was threatening to rain, but I decided to go paint in this beautiful spot for a while. My local plein air group was going to meet, but I was alone when I set up and painted this scene. The water was grey and choppy and the sky flat and monochromatic. Sometimes I enjoy painting the monochromatic atmosphere of a rainy day, but that day I decided to paint what I wanted it to look like, rather than what was in front of me.
